The Facebot is a character with facial cues using LEDs and the waving arm on the servo motor to share a multitude of emotions. Program the Facebot to experience a range from happy, sad, excitement, or nervousness!

Materials

Preparation

Make a base for the body

Slide bent connectors along the front of body then close shape

Make the neck by sliding and attaching straws to body

Assemble the micro:bit and clip then attach to neck

Connect to computer using USB cable

Start a new project on Makecode

Add Strawbees extension

Pair the micro:bit

Turn on the Robotics board

Program the face with LEDs

Program a mouth

Program a mouth animation

Create a joint held in position with friction

Use the joint to build the arm then attach to servo motor

Connect the wire of servo to the Robotics board then clip on body

Program a waving arm

Test Facebot's greeting by adjusting the shoulder and arm
