Construct a Drawbridge with BBC micro:bit

Make a moving bridge shift up and down for boats to cross under safely.

This truss bridge makes way to allow safe passage for boats to travel through the river canals. Using micro:bit version 2, the sounds emitted safely signal to nearby passengers the bridge is in motion and it’s time to clear the way for waterway traffic.

The drawbridge is designed like a real-life with a hinge at the end connected to the drawbridge’s base also acting as the weight to hold in place as it lifts and lowers from the mechanical linkage. For extra safety, you can combine the Parking Garage Barrier activity to control the traffic crossing along the bridge.

Use the MakeCode editor to program the Robotic Inventions for micro:bit.
